Hair lust.

These are just a handful of the photos I have saved because I adore the girls' hair! Either the colour, style or length of the hair in these photos makes me wish I had multiple heads of hair so that I could wear it in all of these styles!

Blanket Forts.

Someone said to me today "You're 15, almost 16. You're way too old to be making blanket forts." I don't think you are ever too old to pretend to be a child. Just because you have grown old doesn't mean you have to grow up.

Tea Time.

If you are cold, tea will warm you.  If you are too heated, it will cool you.  If you are depressed, it will cheer you.  If you are excited, it will calm you.  ~Gladstone, 1865

I love tea. Green tea, herbal tea, normal tea. Caffinated, de-caffinated. I simply adore tea.

The monumental fail of BMFA.

When I said I would do BMF, I didn't picture it like this at all. I have blogged probably three times in April. Whoops.
  1. I had a photo shoot with my friend Esther last weekend. Photos here. Today I have a shoot with the Usuals.
  2. I made cookies.
  3. I fell for someone, but have now given up. It won't work.
  4. I miss people.
Hopefully I will blog more often. I won't make any promises though.Bye xx

Why the Octopus has Three Hearts.

Long ago, in a far away land, there sat a beautiful woman named Phsyche who was ready to wed. The beautiful girl had her choice of all the men in the kingdom except for the one man she wanted, Osiris. Phsyche wished to marry no one other than Osiris, but was unable to get his attention. For Osiris was utterly in love with another woman.
Phsyche plotted and schemed for twelve months, but every plan she attempted was unsuccessful. One day, she got word that Osiris was engaged to Aglaia. Phsyche’s heart broke into two pieces, but she refused to give up. She decided to try once more to gain Osiris’ love and admiration. She went out to a meadow laden with blue, yellow and orange flowers, bringing with her a large wicker filled with assorted fruits and wine. Phsyche gathered the colourful flowers and laid them in her basket. When she was ready, she ascended the steps to the sacred temple on top of mount Olympus. Once there she offered the contents of her basket to Hera, goddess of marriage, and prayed to her. Hera heard her and looked down from her place amongst the clouds. Stunned by Phsyche’s beauty, Hera descended from the heavens.
“What do you wish from Hera?” Phsyche explained her situation and told the goddess about Osiris’ soon-to-happen marriage to Aglaia. She pleaded with Hera to break the marriage and make Osiris fall in love with her instead. Hera was furious at Phsyche for asking such a thing and cursed her to spend the rest of eternity alone.
Even after Hera’s refusal to break up the marriage, Phsyche was still determined to get Osiris. Under cover of darkness she snuck into the temple where Aglaia and Osiris were staying to poison Aglaia. She saw two glasses of rich red wine perched atop a metal tray on stone bench in the middle of the large room. It was the perfect opportunity. As she poisoned Aglaia’s wine, Phsyche heard laughter in the other room. She fumbled with the flask and a drop of the murky liquid escaped into the second glass. Phsyche fled to the bushes lining the house and watched as Osiris led Aglaia by the hand and helped her into one of the chairs. He picked up the wine, took a sip and instantly collapsed dead onto the floor. Aglaia let out a cry and flew to his side. Phsyche’s heart broke into a third piece at the sight of her dead love. The colour drained from her face and tears pooled silently in her eyes.
Phsyche ran with all her might to the sea side where the roaring and crashing waves would conceal the sound of her anguished sobs. Poseidon, god of the sea, had seen what she had done. He waved his golden trident and condemned her to live with her grief forever by turning her into an immortal three hearted, eight legged, sea monster. He named his creation the octopus.

Let's drive away from here and see the sunsets mirrored in the ocean.

I am itching to learn how to drive.
Someone will teach me this summer or I will teach myself. Which will be a disaster, but it needs to happen. I need to be able to drive for many reasons. That's right. In true Josephine blogging style, a list.

  1. Photography. I need to carry equipement and outfits and actually go out for the day and shoot. I wouldn't only be able to go walking distance away.
  2. Road trips. I am the oldest in our foursome known as The Usuals. I am also the planner. We would have so much fun on a road trip. Sherry strumming her guitar in her own little world, Erin and I fighting over music choices and Caroline singing along to everything. Random stops at Timmies for bagels (while bickering about how to pronounce bagel) and ice caps. Thrift shopping. Photos.
  3. Running away for a while. I can just take the car and go. Be alone with my music and my thoughts. No one to tell me that I am not good enough. No one to tell me that I need to be happy. No one asking questions that I don't know the answer to.

xoxo

Day 30 — Whatever tickles your fancy

Last night was the first Movie Night with The Usuals. We had so much fun even though 1/4 of our foursome was missing. We watched Hitch, The Notebook, Couples Retreat and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. We laughed, cried, sobbed, laughed, gasped in horror and cried again. We slept a total of 3 hours. It was fantastic.
I am listening to Nefarious Fauxpod... again. It is a podcast that is made up of four youtubers. It is HILARIOUS. Better with no pants.
This month is over. I would say that I will continue to blog daily/weekly but I highly doubt that I will keep that promise. I will promise that I will participate in BEDA again this year.

Day 25 — Your day, in great detail

I woke up this morning and almost missed my bus because i was busy emailing. I got to school and talked to my friends before going to math class ( which i spent talking to esther and sleeping). In english we started watching The Outsiders. I adore the book and the movie seems to be pretty good as well. During phys. ed. everyone made fun of me. I ate Erin's carrots at lunch and then went to music. Watched the dark knight and did a sheet on shaprs and flats. Then i read. I had a test in french. Now i am home.
the. end.

Day 24 — Whatever tickles your fancy

I was 100% certain that today was Thursday. I argued with my first period class and the teacher about it. I almost got kicked out of class because I was CERTAIN IT WAS THURSDAY. I spent the rest of the day completely confused and flustered.
My friends and I are starting a monthly movie night. It will be a much needed break from the chaos of the world. There will be no phones and no internet for the entire night. It is just one night. We will survive. We've all agreed that more time needs to be spent together. I am very excited.
March break starts on Monday! One week off of school is going to be amazing. I need to fix my sleep patterns, haha.

Day 18 — Whatever tickles your fancy

If you have read The Outsiders by S.E Hinton you will know why this is relevant. The assignment was to write about Johnny getting beat half to death by the Soc's but in Johnny's point of view.

“Hey greaser, what are you doing walking alone? Trying to get jumped?” a Soc in a blue mustang sneers. He stops the car and four of them get out. They are twice my size. I am scared now, but I keep up my tough façade. I curse them under my breath and prepare to make a break for it. Before I have time to react three of them grab my arms and wrestle me to the ground. I can’t fight against them. I spit in the closest Soc’s face. “Dirty greaser, you are nothing but scum on the bottom of our shoes.” He lays a punch to my jaw, his ringed hand causing cuts in my skin. Pain explodes inside me. I struggle to free myself from their grasp and escape. I start to run and am tripped. All four of them jump to attack me. I hear a loud sickening crack as my rib is kicked and another as my nose is hailed by a series of punches. I let out a low groan. I can’t help it. I have never felt this kind of pain. It is the kind of pain that is unimaginable. Eventually they decide that I have had enough. Laughing, they head back to the mustang, each giving me one final kick as he walks by. I can taste the blood pooling in my mouth and I try to spit. I have absolutely no energy left. Maybe I will die… I hope so, anything to take away this ache. The lot wavers as my eyes slowly close and I drift into unconsciousness.

Day 15 — A fanfic

QUAKE URGENCY by Roger Rovensfeld

Quake Marine appeared in a tech base. He looked around for survivors but there were none, but then he saw a man and he was dying "Help! Quake Marine come here!" he said, dying "What is it?" Quake Marine said "There are monsters all around! Quickly you must take this shotgun"And Quake Marine took the shotgun and shot the survivor to ease his pain.
Quake Marine went down the elevator and saw zombies with guns. Quake Marine gasped and took down demons by shooting down the rocks which killed the aliens. But they missed!
"Oh no!" said Quake Marine and he switched to his super shotgun "I will avenge the death of my brother!" he said and shot down the bridge which the marines were over and they fell in and drown.
"Yes!" said Quake Marine and he walked over the bridge to reach the tech base which he was outside. But then there was a zombie dog! "Oh no zombie dogs!" said Quake Marine and he shoot the exploding barrels and they were explode taking the zombie spiders (which exploded)
Quake Marine went down the hallways and it was very creepy with monsters everywhere. Monsters popped out of vases but they were shot at and died. "We will defeat you Quake Marine!" said the monsters but they died before they could say that.
Quake Marine jumped over the slime pits and fell in. "Excrements!" said Quake Marine "I will have to use lightning gun to launch myself up into the top bridges above and escape to safety" and he shot the lightning below him and he flew up to reach the hooks above and he grabbed them. "Yes"
But suddenlly there was earth Quake, "Oh no!" shouted Quake Marine and he fell into the chasm below.
"Aaaaaaaaaaah!" Quake Marine was screaming, so he linked up with base via laptop "Base I am falling chasm!" said Quake Marine urgently "Okay" said base "What you need do is shoot hooks at walls"
Quake Marine shot hooks at walls and escaped. He was back home in his office.
"Well done Quake Marine!" said the boss.
"No problem!!" Said Quake Marine, and he turned off his computer and walked away.
He was going to start new life.

Day 14 — A non-fictional book

Digital Photographers Handbook by Tom Ang
This book is fantastic for the begginer. I got it for my birthday a month ago and have been reading it slowly, taking in every single bit of information. It is easy to understand and has a glossary. I will be continually refrencing this book, I am sure of it.
